When do peak rates apply?

Mabul-resort packages have two seasonal rates; Kapalai stays are one flat rate year-round. The toggle at the top of the page switches every price for you.

Booking rhythm worth knowing

Sipadan closes to all visitors every November for conservation — Mabul and Kapalai diving runs as normal that month. The rest of the year, permits are capped daily and shared across all resorts, so the earlier you enquire the more permit-day options we can hold, especially inside the peak windows above. How much does a Sipadan diving package cost in 2026?

Packages with the Sipadan permit included run from RM4,170 per person (4D3N, one Sipadan day, off-peak) to RM6,830 (6D5N, two Sipadan days, peak). Kapalai over-water stays run RM2,370–RM6,050 flat year-round, with the Sipadan permit a further RM450 per person if requested. Mabul & Kapalai trips without Sipadan start at RM1,880 snorkelling and RM2,390 diving. Full trip math, flights included, is on our cost page.

Is the Sipadan permit included in the price?

It depends on the property. Every Mabul-resort package labelled "Sipadan" includes the permit and park fees for the days stated. Kapalai stays never include it — a Sipadan day there is a RM450-per-person add-on, subject to permit availability. Our permit guide explains the daily cap and how allocation works.

Can non-divers or beginners join?

Yes. The snorkelling packages visit Sipadan on the same boats with permits included, and the Kapalai non-diver rates suit partners who just want the island. Not certified but want to be? See dive courses on Mabul and our beginners guide.

What's the single supplement if I'm travelling alone?

Mabul-resort rates assume two sharing, so solo travellers pay a 40% supplement and join scheduled group transfers. For Kapalai, ask when you enquire and we'll quote your dates.

How many dives do I actually get?

At the Mabul resort: three guided boat dives per full day plus unlimited unguided house-reef dives, with no boat dives on arrival day and no diving on departure day. Sipadan days run 06:00–13:00 with two Sipadan boat dives plus one at Mabul. Kapalai runs up to three guided boat dives on full days plus unlimited shore dives with a buddy.

Is equipment included?

Mabul diving packages include tanks, weights and belt; mask, fins, BCD, regulator and wetsuit rent for roughly RM60–100 per day. At Kapalai, rental gear is arranged at the resort — tell us what you need when you enquire. See what to pack.

Do I need Advanced Open Water to dive Sipadan?

Yes — Sabah Parks requires Advanced Open Water or higher to dive Sipadan itself. Since May 2026 the park again allows up to three dives per permit day, though our partner’s published itineraries currently schedule two at Sipadan plus one at Mabul — confirm the day’s schedule when you book. Open Water divers can dive Mabul and Kapalai freely, and can complete the AOW course at the resort during their stay — mention it in the enquiry form and we'll build it into your package. Can I dive Sipadan in November?

No — Sipadan closes to all visitors every November for conservation. Mabul and Kapalai diving runs as normal, so the Mabul & Kapalai packages are the ones to book that month. Every other month, Sipadan operates with the daily permit cap.

Do I need to pay anything to enquire?

No. An enquiry just checks live availability and gets you a firm quote. Payment only happens if you decide to book, directly with the licensed operator.
